Fluorescent Polymer Particles

Particle image velocimetry is an experimental technique that uses microscale particles as tracers to measure the velocity of a fluid flow. Thanks to their fluorescent nature these particles are helpful in capturing movement in fluids like water. Smaller sized particles provide a better resolution for the technique. Therefore, the particles selected for these images have an average diameter of 50 μm.

The actual research article, which includes a smart method to also monitor the temperature of the fluid can be found in the following link.
